Erin has worked as a clinical social worker and psychotherapist for over 15 years. She discovered the Fair Play Method in the early days of the pandemic, when she was juggling a demanding full-time job with raising two school-aged boys who suddenly weren't able to attend school. Even though Erin's partner was very involved and attentive, she was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of household and family related responsibilities that fell exclusively on her plate.
It wasn't until she first heard the term 'shefault' and learned more about weight of the mental load, that she finally had the language to explain years of built up frustration and resentment. Fair Play made it make sense and offered an opportunity to work collaboratively to reassign tasks and balance the load. Now Erin supports couples on their journeys to healthier, happier, and more balanced relationships.
Erin has a special interest in neurodivergence, and ADHD in particular. She enjoys working with couples where one or both partners has diagnosed or suspected ADHD. Additionally, Erin is a certified Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner (PMH-C) and is experienced in supporting individuals and couples in the transition to parenthood. Erin serves individual clients in NC through her psychotherapy practice (www.clancycounseling.com) and individuals, couples, and groups in her coaching practice (www.clancycoaching.net).
